On Monday, the 7th of March, 2016 the Head of the Dehkhoda Institute, Prof. Dr. Ali Darzi, made a visit to the University of Zakho, which was organized by the Department of Kurdish Language at the University of Zakho, in order to take part in the dissertation defense of Ms. Salwa Fariq Salih, a postgraduate student from the Department of Kurdish Language at the University of Zakho. The aim of this visit was to improve the scientific and cultural relations between the University of Zakho and both the University of Tehran and the Dehkhoda Institute.

Afterwards, a meeting was held between Prof. Dr. Ali Darzi and Assist. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, the President of the University of Zakho. In the presence of the Head of the Department of Kurdish Language, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hussein Othman Abdulrahman, and the PhD student, Salwa Fariq Salih, they discussed the possibility of opening a branch of the Dehkhoda Institute at the University of Zakho. The head of the institute was delighted to talk about this suggestion and is looking forward to apply it.
